Greed is Good. Greed, I believe, maybe the one quality most of us lack that needs to be developed, nurtured, and maintained for success in all areas of your life: health, career, relationships, happiness and finances. Greed is the fuel to help us reach for the stars and achieve our goals. Greed amplifies our energy, makes us more determined, productive, and effective.
Don’t believe me?
Mother Teresa was greedy. She had an insatiable hunger for helping those in need, and wanting to change the world to the way she envisaged the world. She wanted “more, more, more” for those she dedicated her life towards, and created much health, wealth, happiness, and prosperity for all she touched.
Should you be any different in the way you tackle, your vision, your goals?
The now infamous character Gordon Gekko on the movie Wall Street (1987), stated:
“Greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right. Greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures, the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge, has marked the upward surge of mankind…”
It is probably a good place to point out that I am not necessarily talking about greed entirely here, but more an aspect of greed. Hunger maybe a better word. Greed is not all the same. There is ‘good’ greed, and ‘bad’ greed. The greed I want YOU to cultivate, develop, love, live and embrace will do no harm to others. It will catapult you to the heights of your being, and make you a better person.
You Need To Get Clear And Focus Intently
So what’s your vision? Is it better health? I hope so, and presume so if you are reading this blog. So what are you going to do get this health? What are you going to become so unreasonable for, and greedy for, that the obstacles in your way pale in comparison to your vision?
As a society we are NOT too greedy, if fact we are selfless to a point of being mentally, emotionally and physically broke. We are taught not to be greedy: not to dream, not to ask, not to do things ahead of others wants, not to, not to, not to. Ahhhh! Which all this does is makes us complacent with what truly matters in our life, the one constant in your life that you cannot escape from: our selves.
How about this revolutionary idea: Put YOURSELF First.
How do you do that? Here are a few tips:
- Want to lose weight? Schedule a time in your week where you will exercise – no matter what.
- Want to achieve peace of mind? Meditate 5 mins each night before bed – Ask your partner to watch another 10 minutes of TV before coming to the bedroom, or ask them to join you to meditate.
- Want to eat healthier for your kidney health? Be greedy, eat the foods only that you want/need to eat, and tell your partner/friends that is all that’s being served. If they would like something else, ask them to help out (or support you and your choice for a healthier happier life). Also be greedy and eat LOTS of all the healing foods
So yes, I am here to tell you that ‘Greed’ could be the one element that you need to embrace now that could be the catalyst for reaching your health goals and healing your kidney disease.
Greed is Good. Love it. Live it. Embrace it.
PS. Just thought I would leave you off with a short video clip from the movie Wall Street – It might help you tap into your inner Gordon Gekko and relentlessly reach for your desired health.
